A rebranding for SRS medical, who wanted to create a new look and campaign for their revolutionary male catheter, the Spanner. We aimed to create an exciting, funny, visually pleasing logomark and advertisements for the company.
This project focused on developing a brand for SRS Medical's revolutionary medical device, the Spanner. This device allows men who require catheterization to live normal lives, use the bathroom like they normally would, exercise, etc.
The abstract logo symbol was chosen to reference the nature of the product without getting too into the details, which are complex and uncomfortable for many. It references the "S" in Spanner, while also mimicking visually the flow and relaxation the device attains for patients.
The logo type has been carefully selected for its contemporary, legible style, and has been further refined by large, lowercase letters contrasted against an uppercase subhead below. The typeface is Futura PT Light. Beyond simple case, the letterforms themselves are light, referencing the thin white line of the logo symbol and evoking the lifestyle improvement brought by the spanner.
My partner and I focused on avoiding the common tropes of the medical industry (heavy reliance on blues/reds/blacks) in favor of a brighter, cleaner, and more relaxing yellow-green color scheme.
This references the vitality of life before a catheter, which can be returned to with the Spanner. The traditional positivity of green cannot be understated, and combined with a vibrant yellow, we created a vibrant, interesting, and unique color scheme for the product that stands out in its industry.
